It was a tremendous blessing for us to have Lurone Jennings as our first Black History Month speaker this year. Coach Jennings is currently the administrator for Youth and Family Development with the Mayor’s Office in the City of Chattanooga. I mistakenly credited Mr. Jennings as the founder of the Bethlehem Community Center. He founded the Bethlehem Credit Union and was the director of the Bethlehem Community Center for some time (in addition to much other work in our community).
I failed to mention that Coach Jennings is also an author. In 2012, he published the book, Crises in Urban America.
